Today I realized I have problem. A problem with remembering to take before and after shots of everything I make. Usually about halfway through a project I remember I should have taken a before picture whether it just be a stack of fabric, something I am turning into something else, or something I am fixing. This problem leads to the topic of this post, a project I forgot to take a before picture of...again.
Pretending that I have not already fixed one side of the pants... |
Well I decided I was sick of the holes. I am not 18 anymore and I need another pair of pants I can wear to work (I work at a quilt shop) or just feel more comfortable in. So the obvious solution was to fix the tears in the jeans with some sort of patch. Since I have recently been making a bazillion hexagons I decided to make the patches out of them.
It was a lot of work since I had to run my hand up the pant leg to get the needle in and out, but it was necessary because they would not fit in my machine. Fortunately I like the look of the hand stitching it's just a bit more tedious doing it this way. As for the finished product I am quite happy with the results. Wearing these pants with the little patches of fabric make me happy, and not having my legs showing also makes me happy. It's a win-win if you ask me.
I wanted a picture of the pants on so I asked my husband to take a quick picture of them last night and our dog Raptor immediately went and stood between my feet and stared at the camera (he's a bit self absorbed if you ask me). It was not planned on our part but since he seems to always make an appearance when I take pictures I thought I would let him be.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it!
Love,
Elise Lea
You work in a quilt shop?!?!? That sounds like a perfect job and now you have the perfect jeans to wear to work. Great job. Raptor looks to be a very friendly dog.
