Sunday Stash #3

I have four stash additions to show you today: two pre-cut bundles (again? Seriously Elise...) and two yardage purchases.  On a side note it occurred to me that apparently I hoard my pre-cuts because I don't use them often but don't worry I have actual plans for these!

Lets start with the charm pack.  A few months back I purchase this Charm pack of Happy Tones by Michael Miller with plans to turn them into EPP hexagons.  However once I actually received the fabric I thought it was just to fun to be cut up for hexes so I decided to save it for another project.

Skip forward to a week or two ago and I spot this mini charm pack of Giggles by Moda.  As soon as I saw it I immediately thought of the Happy Tones fabric hiding away in my sewing room and I couldn't help but think how wonderful the two would look together.  I have been working on a quilt pattern and wanted to test it out using pre-cuts and I decided this would be a great opportunity to make a crib size quilt using my pattern and the two lines.

Once I had decided to buy the mini charm pack I proceeded to find some sashing and binding fabric  The following picture is what I settled on.  The white and metallic silver print will be my sashing fabric and is part of the Hip Holiday line by Josephine Kimberling for Blend Fabrics.  I plan to bind the quilt in the bright chevron fabric called Ziggy Small Chevron Candy Multi (isn't that a mouthful) by Timeless Treasures.

Picking out fabrics for a quilt is definitely one of my favorite parts of making a quilt and I love it when you put everything together and it just works perfectly like the fabric was meant to go together, even though they are from different designers and manufacturers.

Thanks for reading!  Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!
