Lorax Quilt

After I painted the Dr. Seuss room for my nephews I came across some amazing Dr. Seuss fabric.  First I found a fat quarter bundle of the Lorax and did a little research and found a fat quarter bundle for Cat in the Hat.  After finding these two fabric lines I decided to make quilts for my nephews to go with their Dr. Seuss wall murals.

I mean if you are going to have a Dr. Seuss themed room, you have to go all out. Right? The answer is clearly yes, so off I went to create a quilt for each of the boys.  Also it was an excuse to buy fabric and who doesn’t love that.

I created the Lorax quilt first and backed it in a lime green Kona Cotton. I quilted it with diagonal lines using a lime green thread.

I also added four stripes of celebrate Seuss fabric into the back for some added interest.  My favorite part it the binding which is a rainbow striped Seuss fabric.  Sadly I didn't get a chance to get better pictures of the quilts before they went off to their new home in the Caribbean.

Love,

Elise Lea
