A Quick Pair of Pajama Shorts

Yesterday I took a break from my multiple quilting projects and pumped out a pair of pajama shorts!  I love them.  They only took an hour or so to make and the total cost was only around $5.00 - less if you have some of the supplies sitting around.

For a pattern I used an old pair of shorts that fit well, but were very tired.  I deconstructed them and turned them into pattern pieces.  I laid them out on my beautiful fabric and new shorts were born!

I did make a few changes to my pattern.  I added casing for the elastic waist, which the original shorts did not have and I made the hem narrower to try and make the shorts a little longer.

Unfortunately I didn't think to take photos of the shorts I used for the pattern before I cut them up, but maybe next time right?  I definitely plan on making more of these in the future, especially a longer version I will feel more comfortable wearing in public (I would have done that with these but was very limited with only a half-yard to work with).

I have some more finished and in progress works to share soon, but it has been crazy around here lately as my brother is getting married on Saturday! Pray for good weather!
