Let me introduce you to my latest pattern called the Milky Way Medallion. Named for the center medallion star and the row of wonky stars near the edge, it contains the center medallion and 7 borders, 4 of which are pieced.
The pattern is quite long, 29 pages including templates and cover page, but inside you will find detailed directions and diagrams showing you how to piece this quilt border by border. It also contains directions for both a yardage version (shown here with the black and dark grey backgrounds) and a scrappy version (shown here with the lighter backgrounds).
In addition to the two versions I made I also had a few pattern testers and a proof reader, who were kind enough to try out my pattern and read over it for me. ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a medallion quilt kind of person but I think the way you used the variety of solids in the back (which is something I like to do) makes this quilt speak to me! Very nice pattern. :) Hmmm...if I were to make it I would probably go for an autumnal range of colors because I'm so over this summer. :P

ReplyDeleteI think I'd go with teal, mustard, and maybe lime or magenta - or maybe both. It could change as it develops.
