A Teal and Brown Quilt

Sometimes I see some fabric and think Holy Cow I absolutely adore that fabric and must make a quilt out of it.  The fabric from this quilt was one of those times.  I saw this fabric at my local fabric store awhile back and I fell in love with it.  They even had a sample quilt made from it, but it was small.  I knew I wanted to make at least a twin sized quilt - which is exactly what this ended up being.

Surprisingly this is one of my husband's favorite quilts that I have made (and I made him his own quilt) - there is just something so striking about the way the colors contrast each other that really adds to the beauty of the fabric.  I'm not saying he likes this one better than his or he would rather have it than the one I made for him, he just thinks it turned out great.  You won't see me arguing with such a sweet husband.

Quilting this quilt was interesting.  I machined quilted different sized squares on each of the blocks and did spiral blocks on the borders.  I did all the quilting in teal thread so the back somewhat echos the front.  The binding is a brown polka dotted binding except for one teal section of binding that starts on one side goes around a corner and ends a little further down.

This quilt is for sale in my etsy shop found here.
