All Squared Up - A Scrappy Square Quilt

I promise this is the final teal and brown quilt.  I made the first two quilts (found here and here) and then wanted to experiment while using the last of the material I had left.  It did not turn out as I imagined it.  I didn't mind the way I had pieced it.  It was just that the way I tried to quilt it did not work with the quilt - at all.  I wanted to throw it away, but that is a waste of materials and I knew I could eventually fix it.  So there it sat in a cubbyhole piled under a bunch of fabric until I could figure out what to do with it.

Well that day finally arrived because lately I have been very motivated to quilt and sew more.  I have a lot of projects that need to be finished so I grabbed my seam ripper and proceeded to tear all the very poor quilting out of this fabric. I then went in and hand stitched squares on the quilt in alternating blues, added some machine stitching for reinforcement and then bound it.

Pardon the poor quality of the pictures.  I went outside of course every time I was about to take pictures it wasn't sunny, then as soon as I get back inside, the sun comes out.  Isn't that just sometimes the way it goes though?

This Quilt is available at my etsy shop found here

Thanks for looking!

Love,

Elise Lea

  1. I like this one even better than the previous two Elise. The hand quilting is a nice finishing touch too.
