Finished Dual Christmas Tree Skirts!

My Grandmother's Beautiful Christmas Tree (and new skirt)!
A few days ago I posted about all the problems I was having while trying to quilt the first of these two Christmas tree skirts.  Once I finally got the issue figured out I was able to finish the first one quickly and in enough time for Christmas.

I dropped the first of the two tree skirts off at my grandmother's house and she was thrilled with the results.  Her happiness was infectious and I left her house with a huge smile on my face excited that I was able to contribute in making one of these skirts for her.

Tree Skirt #1 - Grandma's Tree Skirt
The pattern for this skirt has two options and the version of the pattern we used will yield 2 skirt tops - one with a certain fabric starting at the middle and the other the opposite with the same fabric starting at the edges.

Tree Skirt #2 - Aunt's Tree Skirt
Both were backed in the same coordinating green squiggly print and quilted in a simple straight line stitching.    I really enjoy the quilting on these because I find that it really draws the eye through the skirt and towards the tree - not to mention it went quickly so I was able to actually finish these on time.

Each was bound in a fabric that was used in the skirts but showed more predominately in that skirt - ie. green binding on the more green skirt and red binding on the more red skirt.

I really enjoyed being able to work on this project with and for my family.  Once I worked all the kinks out it was relaxing to quilt and bind them.
